The Statement of Intent (SOI) provides context and describes the organisation’s strategic direction for the next four years, heralding a fresh reporting regime. This is in line with new requirements arising from the 2013 amendments to the Crown Entities Act 2004 (CEA). Public expectations of service delivery and innovation continue to climb. With unlimited possibilities for patients to achieve their goals, and to be able to live more fulfilling lives, our preparedness now is more important than ever.

Performance reporting requirements from 2014 have changed, commensurate with the Crown Entities Amendment Act 2013.

Alongside the Statement of Intent four yearly outlook, the Statement of Performance Expectations (SPE) describes what work will be carried out by the organisation in the next financial year. This, together with the need to look at a more holistic approach to addressing patient needs signals a challenging twelve months ahead.

Going forward, this SPE will reported against in our Annual Report.

Briefings to Incoming Ministers (BIMs) are briefings received by incoming Ministers following the formation of a new Government.
